Install Canvas Capture

Tip: Copy the URL of this page into an agent to let it install it for you.

Canvas Capture requires Chrome 157.0.8080.0 or newer with Canvas Draw Element enabled.

Download the extension​

Clone the built extension to a durable location:

  "$HOME/Applications/Remotion Canvas Capture Extension"

The repository contains a production build of Canvas Capture. You do not need to clone or build Remotion.

Set up the browser​

Open Chrome, Chrome Canary, or Chrome for Testing. Check chrome://version to confirm that the Chrome version is 157.0.8080.0 or newer.

Enable Canvas Draw Element before loading the extension:

  1. Open chrome://flags/#canvas-draw-element.
  2. Set the flag to Enabled.
  3. Select Relaunch to restart the browser.

Load the extension​

Open chrome://extensions, enable Developer mode and select Load unpacked.

Select the folder you cloned in the download step.

Open a webpage and click the Remotion Canvas Capture extension icon to start recording.
